Creating Feature Layers in ArcGIS Online
In this step-by-step guide you will learn what feature layers are and how to create, edit, delete, and share them in ArcGIS Online—including hands-on digitizing of points (trees), lines (sidewalks), and polygons (park areas). Pause anytime and follow along at your own pace.

Troubleshooting assistance:
- Can’t sign in? Make sure you’re logged into your browser with your @mail.fresnostate.edu account and choose the Fresno State Organization Login (not the ArcGIS login).
- Can’t see edit tools? Confirm the correct layer is selected and that the layer is editable in Map Viewer.
- Don’t see your changes? Feature edits save to the layer; saving the web map is separate.
- Still stuck? Reach out to the IT Service Desk or GIS support (links above).
